Artist Jeff Zilm brings his rule- and process-driven approach to painting to bear on a series of new works shown at the Journal Gallery. Working with raw material of 8mm and 16mm comedic films of the early- to mid-20th century, Zilm dissolves and reconstitutes the original celluloid reels, preserving the atmospheric and cinematic quality while producing an entirely new work that embodies both past and future. The show closes October 26th.
